How to Convert DePix: 4 Paths to Withdraw, Swap and Spend

Depix.Online Published on July 20, 2026 12 min read

“Now that I have DePix, how do I convert, withdraw or spend it?” is one of the most frequent questions. The good news: you have several paths. It all depends on what you want to do with your DePix.

This guide compares the four main ones:

  1. Withdraw to PIX: Reais in your bank account, via Depix.Online
  2. Swap for crypto: USDT, BTC, USDC and others, via DepixSwap
  3. Convert to Bitcoin: BTC mainnet, via Peg Out
  4. Use a crypto card: spend internationally like with a regular card

Each path has its own fees, speed and best uses. And you do not have to pick just one. You can combine them as needed.

First of all: you control your DePix

The starting point

Your DePix sits in a personal custody wallet: you hold the 12-word seed, which is the private key.

Depix.Online is the platform that made it easy to buy DePix with PIX. But after that transaction, the DePix is entirely yours: you decide where to send it, without asking anyone's permission. That means:

  • You control 100% of the balance.
  • You can transfer to another wallet whenever you want.
  • If Depix.Online disappeared tomorrow, you would still access your DePix through other Liquid wallets.
  • Nobody freezes, blocks or seizes your DePix.

That security is the foundation of every conversion we are about to explain. To understand the model in depth, see how Depix.Online's security works.

Path 1: sell DePix for PIX (Reais in your bank account)

The most direct path for anyone who wants Reais back: sell DePix and receive it in your bank account via PIX.

How it works

  1. Log in to your Depix.Online account.
  2. Choose the DePix sell operation.
  3. Enter the destination PIX key where you want to receive the Reais: CPF, CNPJ, email, phone or a random key.
  4. Set the amount of DePix you want to sell.
  5. Confirm: the PIX payment lands in the account within minutes.

Characteristics

Attribute Detail
Speed A few minutes (processing + PIX transfer)
Minimum Set in the interface itself, per operation
Maximum Varies with your withdrawal limit (shown in the interface)
Fee Shown before you confirm, depends on volume
Any bank? Yes, any bank that accepts PIX
Yourself or third parties? Both, any valid PIX key

When to use this path

  • You need Reais to pay bills, suppliers or salaries.
  • You want cash flow in local currency.
  • You need Reais within minutes.
  • You want to sell DePix and receive it in a Brazilian bank.

Practical example

You received R$ 2,000 in DePix from a sale and need to pay a supplier in Reais. You open the sell operation on Depix.Online, enter R$ 2,000 in DePix, confirm the destination PIX key (yours or the recipient's) and within minutes the R$ 2,000 arrives via PIX.

Income tax

Since DePix is always worth R$ 1, there is no capital gain. Zero tax on this operation.

Path 2: swap for other cryptocurrencies

If you want to move your balance into dollars (hedging against the Real losing value) or swap DePix for Bitcoin, USDT, USDC and others, the path is DepixSwap.

What DepixSwap is

DepixSwap is a decentralised exchange that works as an automatic atomic swap service. You do not need to connect a wallet or create an account: you open the site, set how much you want to swap and which crypto you want to receive, generate a unique receiving address, send your DePix there and automatically get the destination crypto back.

It offers several cryptocurrencies, among them USDT (Tether), USDC (Circle), BTC (Bitcoin), ETH (Ethereum) and SOL (Solana).

Step by step

  1. Open DepixSwap.
  2. Select source (DePix), destination (the crypto you want), amount and destination network: Liquid, Ethereum, Tron, Polygon and others.
  3. Review the fee and the amount you will receive.
  4. Generate the address for the operation.
  5. DepixSwap returns a unique address for your transaction.
  6. Send the DePix from your wallet to that address.
  7. You automatically receive the destination crypto.

You keep full control of the keys: no account to create, no wallet to connect.

Available networks

Network When to use it
Liquid Internal swaps (DePix ↔ USDT-Liquid). Fast, low fee.
Tron (TRC-20) USDT on Tron for large exchanges. Low fee.
Ethereum Maximum compatibility, but a higher fee.
Polygon DeFi and swaps on Polygon. Low fee.
Bitcoin Direct Peg Out to BTC mainnet (see Path 3).
Solana Fast and cheap for Solana transactions.

Characteristics

Attribute Detail
Speed Seconds to minutes (depends on the network and congestion)
Minimum Varies per crypto
Fee DepixSwap spread + network fee (shown before you confirm)
Connect a wallet? No. You send crypto to a generated address
Stays in crypto? Yes. It never goes back to Reais on this path
Reversible? Yes. You can swap USDT back for DePix later

When to use this path

  • You want to hold value in dollars (FX hedge).
  • You want to use USDT on international exchanges.
  • You want to accumulate Bitcoin.
  • You want to operate in DeFi or on crypto platforms.
  • You would rather not go through a Brazilian bank.
  • You want full autonomy, without connecting your wallet to third parties.

Practical example

You have R$ 5,000 in DePix and want an FX hedge. On DepixSwap you set source DePix, destination USDT and network Ethereum, enter R$ 5,000 and generate the address, it starts with 0x…. From your wallet you send the R$ 5,000 in DePix to that address and, within minutes, receive the equivalent in USDT at your Ethereum address, under your control.

Income tax

A DePix → USDT swap is a neutral operation, with no gain. You only pay tax if you later sell the USDT at a profit, once the dollar rises. See the details in how to declare DePix on your income tax return.

Path 3: convert to Bitcoin (Peg Out)

Want to convert DePix into Bitcoin mainnet: real BTC, on the main network? The path is Peg Out, the operation that turns Liquid crypto into native Bitcoin.

What Peg Out is

Peg Out is the conversion of “wrapped” crypto (like a token on the Liquid Network) into Bitcoin on the main network. It is like unwrapping the Bitcoin: before, it sits on the Liquid sidechain, faster and with low fees; after, it is on mainnet, more decentralised and more secure.

How it works

  1. Open DepixSwap.
  2. Select source DePix, destination BTC and destination network Bitcoin mainnet, with the amount you want to convert.
  3. Review the fee and the amount you will receive.
  4. Generate the address for the operation.
  5. Send the DePix to that address.
  6. In 10 to 30 minutes you receive BTC at your Bitcoin address, which starts with bc1.

Characteristics

Attribute Detail
Speed 10 to 30 minutes (depends on Bitcoin congestion)
Recommended minimum From R$ 100 up (the Bitcoin fee is fixed)
Fee Bitcoin network fee (R$ 5 a 30, varies with congestion)
Address Your own Bitcoin wallet (bc1…)
Reversible? Yes: BTC can go back to Liquid later, via Peg In
Connect a wallet? No. You send crypto to a generated address

When to use this path

  • You want to accumulate Bitcoin as a long-term reserve.
  • You want maximum security, on Bitcoin mainnet.
  • You plan to send BTC to an international exchange.
  • You want assets not tied to the Real.

Practical example

You bill R$ 1,000 a week in DePix and want to accumulate Bitcoin long term. Every week you convert R$ 800 via Peg Out on DepixSwap and keep R$ 200 in DePix for day-to-day spending. Over a year that is 52 weeks × R$ 800 = R$ 41,600 accumulated in Bitcoin.

Income tax

A DePix → BTC Peg Out is a neutral operation: there is no gain, it is 1:1. You pay tax if you later sell the BTC at a profit.

Path 4: use an international crypto card

If you want to spend your balance like a Visa or Mastercard anywhere in the world (online, in shops or at ATMs), the path is to set up a crypto card.

What a crypto card is

It is a debit or credit card that you top up with crypto (USDT, USDC and others) and spend like a regular card, accepted in shops, on websites and at ATMs worldwide, with automatic conversion from crypto to the local currency at the moment of purchase.

How the flow works

  1. Sign up: choose a crypto card provider.
  2. KYC: complete identity verification (face and document), mandatory for international cards.
  3. Request the card: physical, delivered by post, or virtual, for immediate use.
  4. Top-up address: the provider gives you a blockchain address to send crypto to.
  5. Swap DePix for crypto on DepixSwap, choosing the network your card supports and generating the receiving address.
  6. Send the crypto from your address to the card's top-up address.
  7. Top up: within minutes, the balance shows on the card.
  8. Spend: like a normal card, anywhere in the world.

Networks supported by crypto cards

Most providers accept Ethereum (ERC-20), Tron (TRC-20), Polygon, Solana and Base. Some accept several at once.

Confirm the network before swapping

Check with your provider which network it accepts before swapping on DepixSwap. Sending crypto to the wrong network means permanently lost funds.

General characteristics

Attribute Detail
Speed Top-up in minutes; instant purchases
Minimum top-up Varies per provider
Top-up fee Blockchain network fee + spread (1 a 3%)
ATM withdrawal fee Varies (usually USD 2 a 4)
Annual fee Some cards charge it; others do not
Coverage Accepted wherever Visa and Mastercard are accepted

When to use this path

  • You travel internationally on a regular basis.
  • You buy online from foreign sites.
  • You want to spend without routing the money through a bank.
  • You want to keep your cash in self-custody until you spend it.

Practical example

You earn R$ 2,000 a month in DePix and are spending three months in Europe. Before travelling, you swap R$ 1,500 in DePix for USDT on DepixSwap, on the network your card supports, send the USDT to the top-up address and, within minutes, the balance appears on the card. You travel with that purchasing power and spend like with a normal card, with automatic conversion to the local currency.

Income tax

Topping up the card with crypto is a neutral operation, with no gain. You pay tax if the crypto appreciates and you sell at a profit.

The 4 paths compared

Path Speed Cost Best for
Sell DePix A few minutes Depix.Online fee Reais in the bank, cash flow
Swap for crypto Seconds to minutes DepixSwap spread + network fee Staying in crypto, FX hedging, trading
Peg Out to Bitcoin 10 a 30 min Bitcoin fee (R$ 5 a 30) Accumulating BTC, long-term reserve
Crypto card Minutes Top-up fee + annual fee Spending globally, travel

Practical strategies

Strategy A: seller with cash flow in Reais

You sell products or services, get paid in DePix, but need to pay bills in Reais:

  • 60% → sell DePix via Depix.Online, receiving Reais by PIX to pay suppliers and operating costs.
  • 30% → swap for crypto on DepixSwap (DePix → USDT), held as a dollar-denominated reserve.
  • 10% → stays in DePix, for the coming days' spending.

Result: stable cash flow in Reais, with an FX hedge.

Strategy B: Bitcoin accumulator with international spending

  • 50% → Peg Out to Bitcoin, as a long-term strategy.
  • 30% → crypto card, topped up monthly for travel spending.
  • 20% → USDT via DepixSwap, for quick liquidity if needed.

Result: wealth accumulating in BTC and global mobility with the card.

Strategy C: 100% crypto operation

  • Everything comes in as DePix, via Depix.Online.
  • 50% → Peg Out to Bitcoin, as a long-term reserve.
  • 50% → crypto card, topped up via DepixSwap, for daily life.
  • If you urgently need Reais, sell DePix via Depix.Online and receive by PIX.

Result: personal custody and little dependence on banks.

Strategy D: travelling without carrying cash

  1. Estimate your travel expenses.
  2. Swap that amount of DePix for USDT or USDC on DepixSwap, on the network your card accepts.
  3. Send the crypto to the card's top-up address.
  4. Top up. The balance is available within minutes.
  5. Travel and spend in any country.
  6. If you need more, sell DePix remotely via Depix.Online and receive Reais by PIX.

Result: a trip with no cash in your luggage.

Important precautions

1. Confirm the network before sending

When swapping on DepixSwap or topping up a crypto card, always confirm the destination network. Each provider accepts specific networks, and Polygon is not Ethereum: the address looks compatible, but the network is different. Sending to the wrong network means permanently lost funds. Check the address twice before sending.

2. The right PIX key when selling DePix

When selling DePix and receiving by PIX, confirm the destination key twice. PIX has no reversal: get it wrong and the money goes to someone else. When in doubt, test with a small amount first.

3. KYC on crypto cards

International crypto cards require a photo of your face, an identity document, an address and sometimes proof of income. It is mandatory: no KYC, no card.

4. Network fee on Peg Out

Pegging out to Bitcoin mainnet carries a network fee ranging from R$ 5 to R$ 30 depending on congestion. For small amounts the percentage cost gets too high: in that case, keep the balance on Liquid or in USDT.

5. Keep your seed safe

Those 12 words control 100% of your DePix

Store them somewhere safe, on paper rather than digitally. Never share them with anyone, and do not take screenshots or photos. If you lose the seed, you lose access to your DePix permanently.

Frequently asked questions

Conclusion

You have four main paths for using your DePix, and each has its purpose. The key is combining them according to your cash flow and goals:

  • Need Reais now? Sell DePix: a few minutes, via PIX.
  • Want dollars or to stay in crypto? DepixSwap (USDT or BTC).
  • Want to accumulate Bitcoin? Peg Out to mainnet.
  • Travelling or spending abroad? A crypto card.
  • Want to combine everything? Yes, it is possible and recommended.

You control 100% of your DePix: nobody freezes, blocks or takes over your custody. Self-custody is the foundation of every conversion you make.

Before you transact, double-check

Fees, supported networks and providers change over time. Always confirm on the platform itself before transacting, and never share your 12-word seed with anyone.
