How Dentists Can Receive Patients’ Pix Payments in DePix
Patients pay Pix through their bank, and the practice receives DePix in its configured wallet. Understand eligibility, per-payment costs and professional responsibilities.
An orthodontic installment, a consultation or a treatment deposit: patients can keep paying in Brazilian reais through their banking app while the practice receives DePix in its own wallet. Patients do not need to buy crypto or learn to use a wallet to make the Pix payment.
That is the purpose of third-party Pix receiving on Depix.Online. The feature is available to selected accounts, subject to review and authorization. Creating an account or verifying a tax ID does not automatically enable this service.
The patient pays Pix. You receive DePix.
What changes for your practice
DePix is a stablecoin referenced to the Brazilian real, designed to track it at 1:1. That reference is not a guarantee of price, redemption or freedom from risk. Read what DePix is and how it works before deciding how much working capital to hold in the asset.
| Stage | Patient | Practice |
|---|---|---|
| Payment request | Receives a Pix QR or payment link | Shares the enabled account’s active QR |
| Payment | Pays in reais through a bank | Tracks processing in payment history |
| Receiving | Does not need a crypto wallet to pay Pix | Receives net DePix in the configured wallet |
| Documentation | Receives the applicable tax document | Reconciles gross payment, fees and DePix received |
Who can use it and how to get access
Start by asking support about eligibility. Access depends on account authorization and service conditions. If you still need to verify a CPF or CNPJ, consult account verification; tax-ID verification is separate from authorization to receive third-party payments.
- Access your enabled account. Follow the platform’s access flow and verify the email you will use to sign in again.
- Choose your public username. It identifies the link you share with patients; also review the name and title shown on the payment page.
- Configure a compatible wallet. Select Liquid or Spark from the available networks and check the destination address.
- Review the conditions and create the QR. Check fees, account limits, network and wallet before sharing.
- Send the link or display the active QR. The patient enters the agreed amount in their bank and pays Pix; check the amount actually paid in payment history.
- Track the operation through DePix delivery. Distinguish an approved payment from DePix sent. A patient’s screenshot is not a substitute for confirmation.
The QR is reusable: it can accept multiple payments while valid and active. It is not a subscription, direct debit or installment-financing product. Each monthly bill or installment requires a new payment by the patient.
Do not treat an ordinary purchase order as a receiving QR
Receiving costs: gross and net examples
At publication, reusable-QR receiving costs 1.5% + R$0.99 per payment. Both charges are deducted from the amount paid. The table is illustrative: check current conditions on third-party receiving, in your account and under fees and limits.
| Patient payment | 1.5% fee | Fixed charge | Estimated net |
|---|---|---|---|
| R$350.00 — orthodontic installment | R$5.25 | R$0.99 | 343.76 DePix |
| R$1,000.00 — treatment installment | R$15.00 | R$0.99 | 984.01 DePix |
An R$350 installment does not yield 350 net DePix. The patient pays R$350, the example’s total charge is R$6.24 and the estimated destination amount is 343.76 DePix. Record the treatment payment and processing cost separately.
For staged treatments, associate each payment with the installment and patient in your practice records. Check the account’s per-payment limit before requesting a large deposit; do not assume that a whole treatment plan fits in one payment.
Compare the full cost of the cycle
History, notifications and reconciliation
The platform shows incoming payments and their references. Use payer, amount, date, network and status to locate the operation and match it to your records. If a relative pays for a patient, confirm who paid and who received care; they are not necessarily the same person.
You can connect Telegram for notifications and locate the same reference in history. A notification is an alert; check the operation’s status. Pix approval and confirmation that DePix was sent are separate stages.
- At reception: check amount and status rather than relying only on receipts sent by message.
- At reconciliation: match the gross payment, fees, net delivery and tax document.
- In the wallet: check network, destination and receipt before treating the funds as available.
- For a discrepancy: give support the operation reference, never your recovery words.
Wallets, networks and QR validity
Use a separate wallet for professional activity and a network compatible with DePix. Liquid and Spark have different addresses and requirements; receiving depends on enabled networks. The Liquid Network guide and Spark guide help compare the options.
Store wallet recovery information according to the wallet’s instructions, with restricted access and a secure backup. Wallets do not all use the same recovery method or word count. The platform does not need your private key to configure a receiving address.
Review the destination wallet when creating or changing a QR. QRs may expire, be revoked or be replaced after processing changes. Prefer the permanent link shown by the platform and check the current QR, especially before printing material. An older image may stop working.
Processing times, returns and Pix MED disputes
A Pix payment does not guarantee immediate or final DePix delivery. Payments can be pending, reviewed, held, delayed or returned. Disputes may also arise under Pix’s Special Return Mechanism, known as MED, with specific instructions in payment history.
Define a cancellation and refund policy for appointments. If a return or dispute is pending, check the case with support before making a separate refund, to avoid paying twice. Canceling a consultation or treatment does not automatically reverse a blockchain transfer.
Receita Saúde, Carnê-Leão and accounting
Receiving DePix is still revenue from professional activity. The official Receita Saúde manual requires doctors and dentists providing services as individuals to issue electronic receipts from January 2025, on the payment date, with a receipt for each paid installment. A service invoice issued by an individual does not remove that requirement.
Carnê-Leão applies to income received by Brazilian-resident individuals from other individuals or abroad, under the applicable rules. Incorporated clinics must maintain invoicing and accounting required by their tax regime and municipality. Platform history does not replace those documents.
Separate gross service revenue, processing expenses and the cryptoasset balance. Agree with your accountant on documentation, recognition dates and fee treatment. DePix held in a wallet and subsequent operations must also be assessed for tax returns and reporting obligations, including DeCripto. See the DePix tax-return guide as well.
Dental advertising: a payment request is not a promotion
Law 5,081/1966, article 7(g) restricts advertising of prices, payment methods and commercial arrangements that constitute unfair competition. The Dental Code of Ethics, article 44 also restricts advertising involving prices and payment methods.
Treat the QR and link as payment tools within the patient relationship, without turning them into promotional hooks. Consult your regional dental council, the CRO, before advertising payment methods, discounts or social-media campaigns. Do not apply medical-advertising permissions to dentistry.
Privacy and staff access
Restrict access to payment data and keep clinical information out of public links, payment titles and messages. Brazil’s LGPD treats health data as sensitive. A payment page should not disclose a patient’s diagnosis or individual procedure.
Choose a suitable public name for the practice and do not publish payment screenshots containing patient data. Liquid’s amount confidentiality is not anonymity and does not remove Pix partners’ records; read what Liquid confidentiality protects.
When it makes sense — and when to keep direct Pix
This option fits an authorized practice that wants part of its revenue in its own wallet and can manage custody, reconciliation and tax obligations. Patients keep using Pix without learning a new payment method.
Keep your existing payment arrangement if you need all funds immediately in a bank account, your account is not enabled or no one can manage the wallet securely. DePix receiving does not replace card financing, automatic collection, insurance contracts or practice management.
Other ways to receive DePix
A patient who already owns DePix can send it directly to a compatible wallet, separately from the platform’s Pix QR flow. You can also buy DePix with your own funds after receiving money in a bank. Patients abroad need a compatible payment route; a Pix link alone does not provide foreign exchange or international remittance.
To return to reais, check selling DePix for Pix and other DePix conversion options. Check the supported network, fees, limits and processing time before relying on that liquidity.
Your first step
Start with receiving third-party Pix in DePix and ask about account eligibility. Once authorized, configure the wallet, review conditions and make a permitted low-value test before incorporating the flow into practice routines. The goal is clarity about what was paid, what it cost and what arrived.
If you work with other specialties, read how doctors can receive Pix in DePix. The payment flow is similar, but professional-advertising rules differ.
